Rajma masala(red kidney beans curry)

Rajma masala ,a north Indian delicious,creamy lentil dish.Boiled rajma beans are cooked in onions,tomatoes and other spices.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves,few drops of fresh lime juice and milk cream.
Serve hot with rice or bread.

Cooking time-40 minutes.

Ingredients:

1 cup of rajma(Wash and soak overnight in water)
2 medium onions(finely chopped 1 cup)
3 medium tomatoes.(sliced 1 cup)
3 to 4 green chillies.
3/4 teaspoon ginger garlic paste.
1 dry red chilly.
1/2 teaspoon cumin.
1/2 teaspoon amchoor powder(dry mango powder).
1 teaspoon salt.
1 teaspoon chilly powder.
3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder.
1 teaspoon coriander and cumin powder.
1/2 teaspoon ghee for cooking.
1 teaspoon oil for cooking.
3 tablespoons fresh milk cream

Preparation:

Pressure cook soaked rajma by adding 3 cups of water,for 4 to 5 whistles or till soft.

Heat a pan,add ghee,oil,dry red chilly,cumin,onions saute till light pink colour.
add turmeric powder,ginger garlic paste ,mix and cook for a minute.
add green chillies,sliced tomatoes,amchoor powder,powdered coriander and cumin,salt, mix and cook until tomatoes are soft.

Add boiled rajma to the tomatoes,mix well.
Cook for ten more minutes.

Serve hot, garnish with chopped coriander leaves,few drops of fresh lime juice and milk cream

Adjust salt and chilly powder according to taste.
