Jeerakasala Rice Pulao

Jeerakasala rice is very simple and most flavoured rice dish among all the rice dishes.Its a short grain rice originated from kerala.This rice is called as Chitti mutyalu in Telugu.

Ingredients:
Jeerakasala rice -2 cups
Ginger garlic paste-1/2 teaspoon.
Green chillies slit -3.
Onion-1.
Curry leaves -10 to 15.
Mint leaves-10.
Spices:
Cinnamon sticks-2.
Black cardamom-1.
Bay leaf-1.
Cloves-2.
Shahjeera-1/4 teaspoon.
Coriander powder-1/2 teaspoon.
Garam masala powder-1/2 teaspoon.
Star anise-1.
Water-31/2 cups.
chopped coriander leaves- 1table spoon.
Oil /ghee -1 table spoon.
Salt to taste.

Preparation:

Clean and soak rice in water for 10 minutes, and drain all the water.
Heat Half a tablespoon of oil, add 1/2 tablespoon ghee to.
Add spices, onions, green chilies, Curry leaves, mint leaves, ginger garlic paste, saute for a minute. Add rice mix well. Add three and half cups of boiling water, garam masala powder, Coriander powder and salt  to rice. Cook on high flame for eight to ten minutes or until rice is 3/4 done.
Lower the flame and cover it with tight lid and cook for five more minutes or until done.
Add chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with any gravy curry and Dahi chutney.
